JD
Founder, CEO, Road Captain
Always a passionate Motorcycle enthusiast, JD is well-travelled with a long continuing career in the Travel, Hospitality, and Tourism Industry in a variety of roles from Bartender/Server, Flight Attendant and Airport Passenger Agent, Campground & RV Park Owner/Operator, Hotel and Resort Sales & Marketing Executive, and more. He is the principal in Dubois Hospitality Group, a Tourism Consulting firm. In 2016 he completed his third post-secondary educational accreditation, a Graduate (Masters) Degree in Tourism Management. The topic of his Thesis was “Understanding Motorcycle Tourism Through A Study Of Biker Culture”. A “Labour Of Love” as he calls it. JD founded Freedom Biker Tours a few years later after truly understanding the significant mental health benefits of motorcycling.
The core values of Freedom Biker Tours are JD’s personal values; Authenticity, Inclusivity, Acceptance, Brotherhood and Freedom. JD’s wish is to share his message and values with the world through the Motorcycle Culture and Community using Kickstands Up Canada and Freedom Biker Tours as platforms for this purpose, and along the way meet interesting authentic people, have a ton of fun, enjoy life and ride, ride, ride.

Carmen
Videographer/Film Maker/Storyteller
Carmen is a storyteller on two wheels.
Through her lens, motorcycling becomes more than just a ride—it becomes a form of therapy, a reset, a reminder to be present. She captures the moments where stress fades, laughter takes over, and life feels simple again.
Her work is about more than video—it’s about helping people reconnect with joy, freedom, and the thrill of being alive.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about where you’re going… it’s about enjoying the Journey.

Rob
Maritimes Road Captain, Marketing
Retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) after 31 years of service in Halifax Nova Scotia. Looking for something different, Rob went to Marketing school afterwards and now helps market for Freedom Biker Tours.
Had a 4 year episode with cancer treatments and surgeries that led to his humour responding to the question “how are you?” with “Not Dead”.
Road Captain of the Maritimes events and happy to show people around his part of Canada.

Steve
Rockies and BC Road Captain
Another veteran, this time from the Royal Navy, and having emigrated from the UK in 2008, Steve now calls the mountains of British Columbia home.
Working in many facets of the motorcycle industry, Steve brings his experience as a motorcycle instructor as Road Captain for some of the Rides in the Canadian Rockies.
Always up for an entertaining story, ask him about how he became the Yoga instructor.
